Mystery Photo Number 5!
Well folks, this is it... the long awaited Mystery Photo Number 5. As always, please post your guesses as "comments". A hint... this mystery photo subject greeted us just outside the door of our house this morning on the way to church, and taking the photo made us just a minute later than we already were! --Rick for all of us

Looks like a cocoon
Hidey didn't cough up a bunch of bugs that she ate, did she? :) Looks like some kind of a cocoon or nest - I think I see a leaf from the almond tree in there.

I dunno what kind of bug it is, but when she gets home I bet her husband wants her to get rid of alot of those mementos from her tribe across the yard.
(ps, I did this comment once already using the 'login' and found one of my blog accounts I had created a while back (the 'zego' comment)! I guess I've been picking up an internet cocoon of sorts, as I travel across the internet).
Doh, I meant 'trip' across the yard.
I think its a caterpillar that has disguised itself with a "coat" of leaves and debris.
